Inferact, founded by the creators and core maintainers of vLLM, is seeking a Founding Product Designer to establish the company's visual identity and shape developer product experiences. vLLM is positioned as the world's AI inference engine, and this role sits at the intersection of models, hardware, and design craft.
You will be the first design hire, responsible for building Inferact's visual language from the ground up. In your first 30 days, you'll own high-impact design assets for model launches, technical content, and ecosystem announcements, establishing a baseline visual identity for both Inferact and vLLM. By day 60, you'll expand into UI/UX design for production tooling and developer dashboards while scaling your design footprint across the website, interactive developer pages, and partner materials. By day 90, you'll own core product design for the enterprise offering, refining developer tool interfaces, optimizing workflows, and establishing a unified design system.
You'll work directly with founders, engineering leads, product, and marketing teams in a fast-paced startup environment. This is a full-stack design role requiring both visual craft and technical depth. You should be comfortable designing for developers and technical infrastructure products, with the ability to take rough ideas or technical blog posts and independently produce polished visuals, landing pages, and product mockups.
Required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Product Design, HCI, Computer Science, or related field. Strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional craft, typography, layout, visual systems, and interactive UI/UX. AI-native operating style using modern design and code generators. High technical taste with a track record designing for developers or complex systems. End-to-end execution capability and ability to collaborate credibly with technical founders and engineers.
Preferred: Experience with developer tools, AI infrastructure, cloud platforms, or technical SaaS. Background in visual design, brand systems, illustration, or graphic design. Proficiency with Figma, Framer, Webflow, or React/Tailwind prototyping. Experience designing for developer conferences and launch campaigns. Bonus: motion design (After Effects, Rive, Lottie), 3D design (Blender, Cinema 4D, Spline), personal tech-forward website, or 0-to-1 design system experience.
