Brderless is building a curated network for the tech ecosystem, connecting founders, operators, and investors through invitation-only events (dinners, breakfasts, galas, buildathons). The company has grown to nearly $1M in revenue in 18 months with 5,000+ vetted members and a growing tech newsletter, currently operating with a lean founding team.
As Founding Growth & Partnerships Associate, you will own multiple interconnected systems:
**The Rooms:** End-to-end event production including sourcing and vetting attendees, running events, and follow-up that converts attendees into lasting relationships. You will serve as the founder's proxy in rooms when scheduling conflicts arise, making curation decisions about who belongs at each event type and why.
**The Member System:** Build and maintain a single source of truth for the network—who is in it, what they're building, and what they need. This includes CRM hygiene, intro tracking, warm-intro routing, and automated post-event follow-up sequences.
**The Machine:** Document playbooks, templates, and AI-assisted workflows so the tenth room costs a fraction of the first. Audit current processes, identify breakdowns, and fix them. Coordinate volunteer support in New York.
**Content & Voice:** Own room recaps, newsletter operations, and the content pipeline. You will post publicly under both the Brderless name and your own—the founder wants your ideas and visibility, not just editing. As the founder steps into public view, you'll be doing this alongside her.
**90-Day Milestones:**
- Day 30: Understand curation mechanics for each event format; shadow a full room cycle; deliver a process audit; begin content production.
- Day 60: Own one room end-to-end with founder input only on curation; launch the member CRM; automate post-room follow-up sequences.
- Day 90: Document room production as a repeatable system; demonstrate measurable improvements in post-room introductions and member retention; understand partnership revenue mechanics; launch one self-initiated project.
**What We're Looking For:**
You combine people skills with systems thinking—a rare pairing. You read rooms, remember details, follow up proactively, then automate what you've learned. You're comfortable being visible: posting, hosting, introducing yourself to founders. You have taste and high standards; our members detect sloppiness instantly. You work with high context and low instruction, move fast, take blunt feedback well, and prioritize building the machine over personal recognition. You care deeply about tech and founders specifically. You don't need an existing network, but you must be willing to build one publicly.
**Nice to Have:**
Sponsorship or partnership experience at any scale; existing footprint in SF or NYC tech; newsletter, podcast, or content production background; event experience; a side project you built independently.
**Practical Details:**
Some travel, mainly to cover events the founder cannot attend (not every week). Evenings and early mornings are part of the role—breakfasts and dinners come with the job. Full-time, working closely and often in person with the founder.
**Hiring Process:**
First conversation with founder (half pitch, half chemistry check). Case study: audit Brderless operations and propose changes. Optional paid one-week trial. Final conversation and fast decision.
**Requirements:**
- Demonstrated ability to manage both interpersonal relationships and operational systems
- Comfort with public visibility and personal branding
- High standards for quality and curation
- Ability to work independently with minimal instruction
- Genuine interest in the tech ecosystem and founder community
- Willingness to work non-traditional hours (evenings, early mornings, events)
- Ability to travel occasionally
- Experience with events, sponsorships, partnerships, or content production is a plus but not required
