Hypercubic is building AI systems that understand, reason about, and rearchitect large-scale legacy applications running on mainframes and COBOL. You'll be Sales #1, owning the entire enterprise sales function as the company scales from founder-led sales to a repeatable, scalable motion.
Your core responsibilities:
1. Own the entire top of funnel: source and prospect accounts, conduct outreach, and qualify opportunities through research, warm introductions, partners, conferences, and inbound leads.
2. Drive opportunities through the sales cycle: lead first calls and discovery, understand customer problems and urgency, identify stakeholders, build champions, engage decision-makers, and keep deals moving toward pilots and revenue.
3. Partner with the CEO on strategy, pricing, negotiation, and closing. Bring them into deeper demos with strong preparation and own follow-through.
4. Build the repeatable playbook: test messaging and channels, document what works, maintain an accurate pipeline, and leverage AI and automation to increase output.
Success is measured by sustained growth in qualified enterprise opportunities, more accounts progressing toward pilots and paid deployments, active deals with engaged stakeholders and clear next steps, repeatable pipeline sources beyond the founder network, and a documented sales playbook grounded in what actually wins business.
You'll work closely with the founders and engineering team, influence go-to-market strategy, and directly shape the commercial foundation of the company. The role is in-person 5 days per week in San Francisco (FiDi area).
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven ability to build your own pipeline and win complex enterprise business, ideally including six- or seven-figure contracts; you can point to deals you personally created and advanced.
- High agency: you find ways into accounts and move independently without an established playbook.
- Enterprise judgment: you build champions, navigate buying committees, and know when to push, adapt, or walk away.
- Technical curiosity: you learn complex products quickly and earn credibility with engineers and executives.
- Sharp communication: you write compelling outreach, run focused discovery, and communicate concisely.
- Disciplined execution: you prepare thoroughly, keep an accurate pipeline, and follow through.
- Resourceful with tools: hands-on with CRMs, prospecting tools, and AI; you build workflows that accelerate research, outreach, meeting preparation, and follow-up.
- Ambition and coachability: you take ownership of results, seek feedback, and want to become exceptional at your craft.
- Background: you may be an AE who built your own pipeline, a standout BDR ready for broader ownership, or a founder who sold a technical product.
- Note: The company is unable to sponsor new H1B employment visas at this time.
