Exo is building the infrastructure for local AI—enabling anyone with a MacBook to run frontier-grade machine intelligence privately and locally, without surrendering data to cloud providers or accepting inferior performance. The company has developed best-in-class infrastructure for cross-device tensor sharding and is recommended by Apple for clustering M5 Ultra systems.
As Founding Designer, you will be the visionary designer responsible for telling Exo's story visually and creating the user experience that makes local AI as simple and ubiquitous as a wifi router. This is a high-impact, high-agency role that will touch many aspects of the Exo product.
Your mission: design a beautiful, intuitive, simplified interface that democratizes machine intelligence. You'll work with a team of researchers and engineers with deep expertise in local AI, collaborating with partners at NVIDIA and Apple. The role demands rapid, iterative design with a clear focus on simplicity and intuition—translating a technological revolution (personal machine intelligence controlled by individuals, not corporations) into elegant product experiences.
This is a founding-stage role for someone who is a visionary, not a mercenary. You'll have significant agency in shaping how people interact with machine intelligence across devices they own, lease, or borrow.
Qualifications:
- Professional design training or equivalent demonstrated expertise
- Degrees in HCI, Design, or related fields are welcome but not required
- Ability to work rapidly and iteratively with a focus on simplicity and intuition
- Visionary thinking about the future of human-AI interaction
