Harvey is an AI platform transforming legal and professional services work through frontier agentic AI, enterprise-grade infrastructure, and deep domain expertise. The company has strong product-market fit, world-class investor backing, and is scaling rapidly.
Harvey's Finance Engineering team consists of former investment professionals who bring real deal experience to prospects and customers. Forward Deployed Finance Engineers lead discovery, demos, pilots, trainings, onboarding, and custom builds alongside Account Executives and Customer Success Managers. They translate real investment work into Harvey solutions and serve as the trust layer across the entire customer lifecycle.
This role is the first Finance Engineer dedicated to real estate. You will build the real estate playbook—demo library, workflow templates, use cases—while running live pilots and leading the real estate practice as the team grows. You'll work with real estate private equity platforms, real estate debt funds, insurers, asset managers, and developer-investors throughout the pre-sales process and beyond.
The work mirrors what you did on the desk: OM and broker package review; rent roll and T-12 normalization; lease and estoppel abstraction; ARGUS and acquisition model builds; third-party report review (appraisal, property condition, environmental); sale and rent comps; loan document and term sheet review; and investment committee materials. You'll continue post-close into asset management reporting, loan compliance, and valuation support. You'll bring acquisitions-team feedback back into the product, helping shape Harvey's future.
Expect to travel 2–3+ times per month for 1–3 days at a time for significant business needs.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years on an acquisitions, asset management, or real estate credit team at a real estate private equity platform, real estate debt fund, insurer, asset-manager real estate arm, or developer-investor, with demonstrated ownership of live deal work: screening, underwriting, diligence workstreams, modeling, and drafting committee materials. Brokerage, valuation, or investment banking experience before the principal side is welcome, but principal-side deal execution is required.
- Strong command of documents and data driving real estate investment decisions—OM and broker package, rent roll and T-12, leases and estoppels, third-party reports, loan documents, ARGUS and Excel acquisition models—and instinct for where numbers and paper disagree.
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling; comfort with prompting and agentic AI workflows; builder's instinct for turning repeated manual processes into repeatable automation. Python, SQL, or experience building internal tools is a plus.
- Executive presence and relationship-building skills; ability to establish credibility from analysts and associates through partners and investment committee members.
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills; comfortable leading live demos, facilitating workshops, and holding your own in technical conversations about underwriting assumptions.
- Deep curiosity about AI's potential to transform investment work, paired with practical, solutions-oriented mindset and bias toward action.
- Track record partnering with senior stakeholders to drive results, with curiosity for testing approaches and optimizing for customer outcomes.
- Customer-facing or commercial experience (LP or investor relations, capital formation, banking or brokerage coverage, business development) and/or hands-on experience using AI tools in an investment setting are pluses.
