Kraken, one of the world's longest-standing crypto platforms founded in 2011, is seeking a FIU Compliance Associate to join its compliance team in the Philippines. The role focuses on anti-financial crime operations within a rapidly growing fintech organization serving over 10 million users globally.
Key responsibilities include conducting financial investigations and preparing Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) and Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs). You will monitor transaction volumes, proactively adjust to fluctuations, and handle volume surges while maintaining operational efficiency and compliance standards. The role requires utilizing advanced data analysis tools and spreadsheet functions to identify patterns and anomalies, with a focus on balancing individual production efforts alongside ad hoc compliance projects.
You will work with industry-standard financial crime detection tools including Chainalysis, Elliptic, and TRM Labs. The position emphasizes practical risk assessment and mitigation of financial crime threats specific to cryptocurrency and digital asset trading.
Required qualifications include 2+ years of anti-financial crime experience with crypto background, understanding of compliance operational functions and processes, proven ability to identify and assess financial crime risks, proficiency with Google Suite (particularly Sheets and Docs), and comfort with AI and automation technologies. Familiarity with the specialized tools mentioned above is essential.
Nice-to-have qualifications include financial crime certifications (CAMS, ICA, CRCM, CRC) and technical skills in SQL or Python for database work and automation.
