Salary: USD 129,000 - 177,000 / annual
Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming military capabilities through advanced autonomy, AI, computer vision, and sensor fusion. The Sentry Firmware team develops core technology for the Sentry Tower product line, working closely with electrical engineering to solve complex problems for defense customers.
In this role, you will develop low-level firmware and software for microcontrollers used in systems operating on land, sea, and air. You'll take full ownership of embedded firmware projects from design through implementation, create reusable device drivers, and architect solutions to support a growing codebase. You'll mentor other firmware engineers, contribute to team direction and policy, and help guide best practices in design engineering.
Key responsibilities include debugging issues spanning electrical, firmware, and software boundaries; selecting microcontrollers and peripherals; reviewing schematics with the electrical engineering team; and managing concurrent involvement in multiple projects at various stages.
Required qualifications: BS/MS in CS, CE, or EE (or equivalent); 3+ years firmware/embedded software development experience; expert-level C coding for embedded systems; demonstrated success with complex MCU projects involving multi-board communication; broad experience with microcontroller cores (ARM, AVR, MSP430, PIC); sensor integration experience; bare-metal and/or RTOS development; proficiency with JTAG, SWD, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers; solid coding best practices and board bring-up skills; extensive bus protocol experience (USB, SPI, I2C, CAN, RS232, RS485, Ethernet); and eligibility for U.S. Secret security clearance.
Preferred: STM32 MCU experience, CAN and Ethernet protocol expertise, bias for action, and natural curiosity about technologies and tools.
