Halter is a climate-tech company revolutionizing sustainable grazing practices for farmers and graziers. Using innovative technology, Halter enables farmers to manage large herds (500+ cattle) without traditional infrastructure like quad bikes, dogs, or fences—transforming agricultural operations into more productive and sustainable systems. The company is backed by tier-1 investors including Founders Fund, Bessemer Venture Partners, and DCVC. As Financial Operations Analyst, you'll be the operational engine of Halter's finance function, managing day-to-day financial processes across three core areas: (1) Accounts Receivable—invoicing, collections, and resolving customer billing queries while protecting relationships; (2) Accounts Payable—processing supplier invoices, onboarding vendors, and reconciling accounts alongside the Financial Accountant; (3) Employee Expenses—reviewing claims, reconciling corporate cards, and managing reimbursements with high attention to detail. You'll be a cross-functional operator, working closely with Sales, Customer Success, People, and other teams across Halter. You'll be the first port of call for finance questions company-wide, providing clear and fast support. A key part of the role is identifying process gaps and building better ways of working—you'll improve systems, not just run them. You'll also support month-end close activities, ensuring financial records remain accurate and audit-ready. The ideal candidate has experience in accounts, finance operations, or accounts administration (AP, AR, or expenses preferred), though sharp graduates keen to learn fast are welcome. You bring sharp attention to detail, a genuine bias for action, and comfort operating at pace with ambiguity. Strong communication skills are essential—you're confident chasing payments, questioning numbers, and pushing back when needed. Above all, you have a customer-first mindset, pride in doing things properly, and genuine enthusiasm to roll up your sleeves and build something exceptional. Halter offers real ownership from day one with visibility across the whole business, a high-velocity team culture, and the chance to shape finance operations as the company scales across NZ, Australia, and the US. The Auckland office-first team works hard, shares wins, and maintains a collaborative, high-energy environment.
