Apex manufactures satellite buses (spacecraft platforms) at scale for the commercial space industry, combining software, vertical integration, and hardware design. The company has raised over $500M in funding and is rapidly scaling operations. You will join the Finance team as a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst, serving as the dedicated finance business partner to the Engineering and R&D organization. This is a high-impact, cross-functional role in a fast-moving aerospace business where you'll drive planning, reporting, and analysis that informs strategic decisions. Key responsibilities include: - Own headcount planning and modeling across the company, maintaining accurate department-level forecasts and partnering with hiring managers on plan versus actuals - Serve as the finance business partner to Engineering leadership, providing analysis, guidance, and financial visibility - Contribute to annual budgets, reforecasts, and long-range planning cycles, including preparation, consolidation, and review - Perform variance analysis to explain budget-to-actual and forecast-to-actual differences, surfacing actionable insights - Assist with monthly and quarterly reporting for executive and management audiences - Identify and implement process improvements and system enhancements to increase accuracy, efficiency, and scalability of FP&A workflows - Support purchase order (PO) and purchase requisition (PR) approvals and tracking for multi-million-dollar Engineering projects You should have 3–5 years of relevant FP&A, corporate finance, or comparable analytical finance experience. A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field is required. Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and variance analysis skills are essential. You must be comfortable with ambiguity, able to adapt quickly as priorities shift, and skilled at partnering with senior leadership and technical stakeholders. U.S. Person status is required due to export control regulations. Preferred qualifications include familiarity with Engineering and R&D cost structures, experience in the space or aerospace/defense sector, and advanced Excel and PowerPoint competency.
