Anthropic is seeking a Finance Systems Engineer to join the Finance Systems team and support core Financial Planning, Forecasting, and Analytics (FP&A) operations. This role combines technical engineering expertise with deep financial domain knowledge to build and maintain platforms that power Anthropic's financial planning infrastructure.
You will serve as the primary systems administrator for Anthropic's financial planning platform (Pigment), managing system health, user access, security, and configurations. Beyond day-to-day operations, you'll design and build financial models, workflows, and applications using EPM platforms like Pigment and Anaplan, developing secure integrations via REST APIs to connect FP&A systems with enterprise applications (Workday Financials, Salesforce CRM, etc.) and the data warehouse.
Key responsibilities include developing SQL-based data models and ETL pipelines to support financial close, forecasting, and business intelligence; ensuring data accuracy and integrity across systems through validation rules and quality checks; and troubleshooting data discrepancies. You'll partner closely with Finance, Strategy, and Accounting teams to understand business problems and translate requirements into technical solutions, supporting monthly forecasts, annual planning, workforce planning, and cash flow forecasting processes.
The role also involves identifying process improvements, participating in system testing and validation, assisting with user training and onboarding, and exploring opportunities to use Claude and AI tools to automate FP&A work and build scalable solutions as Anthropic grows.
Required: 8+ years in FP&A systems, hands-on experience administering enterprise planning platforms (Pigment, Anaplan, Adaptive Planning), strong SQL and data modeling skills, ability to translate business requirements into technical designs, and solid understanding of FP&A processes and accounting principles. Preferred: techno-functional background (e.g., CFA with hands-on development experience), experience owning changes in shared production codebases with engineering teams.
