The Finance Manager role is based remotely in New Zealand and focuses on ensuring the business receives high-quality, timely financial data through day-to-day accounting operations and compliance. You will own the monthly accounting close process, including bookkeeping, variance analysis, and financial controls using NetSuite and internally developed tools. Key responsibilities include managing reconciliations, operating SOX frameworks, completing local statutory audits, and assisting with the company's disclosure statement. You'll play a critical role in end-to-end regulatory reporting, collaborate with the global Tax team on VAT and CIT filings, manage accounting vendors, and serve as the point of contact for local finance matters. A significant part of the role involves improving and automating processes to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting. Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree and Chartered Accountant (CA) designation or local equivalent. You need 5+ years of related experience (or 4+ years post-qualification) in banking, financial services, fintech, or high-growth tech, or experience as an external auditor with financial services exposure. Strong accounting and reconciliation skills are essential, along with knowledge of New Zealand tax regulations and banking requirements, IFRS standards, and local GAAP compliance. Proficiency with NetSuite and data analysis tools like SQL is required. Nice-to-have experience includes work at a CA firm, financial control roles in financial services or banking, or similar entity management roles.
