Salary: USD 134,000 - 184,000 / annual
Osmo is a digital olfaction company developing AI-powered smell sensing technology for applications across fragrance, manufacturing, security, and medicine. The Finance Engineer role sits in the Office of the CFO and owns a broad mandate spanning financial planning & analysis, operational execution, and business partnering.
Key responsibilities include: maintaining and extending the corporate financial model (P&L, cash forecasts, scenario analyses); building and managing department-level budgets with monthly variance tracking; preparing board and investor-facing materials; supporting month-end close and financial reporting; and building models for strategic decisions (pricing, headcount ROI, capital allocation). The role treats the finance stack as something to actively improve—identifying manual processes, data gaps, and brittle workflows, then building automations and data integrations to reduce recurring work. This includes designing reporting pipelines, reconciliation workflows, variance alerts, and close checklists.
Business operations responsibilities span serving as the primary finance contact for department heads, translating numbers into actionable insights, partnering on budget planning and forecasts, owning variance narratives, and taking on cross-functional projects. The role also maintains operational infrastructure (vendor management, contract administration, compliance filings) and supports investor due diligence and board reporting.
Required: 4–8 years in FP&A, strategic finance, investment banking, or comparable analytical role. Advanced modeling skills, ability to own significant work independently across multiple projects, strong written communication, and a tech-forward approach to finance operations (comfort with AI tooling, scripting, APIs, automation). Experience with ERP/accounting systems (NetSuite preferred) at the transaction level is essential.
Standout candidates have built data pipelines or finance automations, worked at venture-backed startups (Series A/B/C) in finance/ops, exposure to fundraising or due diligence, familiarity with Ramp or JustWorks, or background in technically complex industries (AI/ML, chemicals, biotech, manufacturing).
