Salary: USD 99,000 - 130,000 / annual
Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced technology. The company develops Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that integrates thousands of data streams into real-time 3D command and control centers, and brings cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to military applications.
As an Engineering Finance Associate, you will own development and production cost estimations for new products ranging from concept to in-development stages. You will partner with leadership and cross-functional teams to translate engineering problems into quantitative financial measures and solutions. Your work will span quick-turn analytical problem-solving, process and data improvements, and building financial models.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting projects end-to-end from definition through solution to implementation, handling ambiguous problems with minimal prescription
- Executing scrappy analyses on short timelines while building scalable solutions for long-term success
- Project managing across many stakeholders, leading meetings with large groups and managing cross-functional coordination
- Working across Finance, Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and other functions to learn Anduril's business comprehensively
- Owning detailed should-cost models end-to-end, from on-the-ground data gathering through stakeholder presentations
- Building parametric cost models for various products, breaking them down into first principles including capability and physics
- Tying product life cycle costs together to forecast business case viability, opportunities, and risks
- Creating novel frameworks for establishing a strong value engineering capability
- Establishing transparency into material costs for existing and future products
- Building financial models to set material cost targets
- Developing and implementing cost reduction roadmaps with Engineering and Supply Chain teams
- Helping executives think through tradeoffs between product features, costs, and profitability
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in manufacturing finance, engineering finance, or an engineering role
- Strong understanding of mathematics or model building
- Strong analytical aptitude with intuitive thinking about problems in numerical terms
- Ability to quickly execute analyses in Excel
- Ability to quantify complex, often ambiguous problems
- Deep fascination with the intersection of engineering design and business growth/scaling
- Comfortable communicating broadly with visibility to large groups and senior leadership
- Flexibility with work schedule (willing to leave early for appointments but also responsive to evening communications)
- Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Basic understanding of engineering design in aerospace, software, maritime, or electronics
- Understanding of configuration management principles and Bill of Materials structuring
- Familiarity with defense standards such as MIL-STD-881 and DOD MRA Frameworks
