Salary: USD 99,000 - 130,000 / annual
Anduril Industries is seeking a Finance Associate for Engineering to own development and production cost estimations for defense technology products ranging from concept to in-development stage. This role bridges finance and engineering, translating complex engineering problems into quantitative financial measures and solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
• Own end-to-end projects from definition through implementation, executing both quick-turn analyses and building scalable financial models that support long-term business success
• Lead cross-functional stakeholder management across Finance, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing teams to drive solutions
• Develop detailed should-cost models, including parametric cost modeling that breaks down products into first principles based on capability and physics
• Build financial frameworks for value engineering, establishing transparency into material costs and creating cost reduction roadmaps
• Forecast product business case viability by tying together entire product lifecycle costs
• "Red-team" engineering plans from financial and business perspectives, helping executives navigate tradeoffs between product features, costs, and profitability
Required qualifications include minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing finance, engineering finance, or value engineering at a high-growth hardware company. You must have strong financial and accounting knowledge, exceptional analytical aptitude, and proficiency in Excel. The role requires comfort with corporate systems (Salesforce, Coupa, Anaplan) and analytic tools (Palantir Foundry). You should be comfortable communicating with senior leadership and large groups, and willing to work flexibly. U.S. Person status is required due to access to export-controlled information.
Preferred qualifications include basic understanding of aerospace, software, maritime, or electronics engineering design; knowledge of configuration management and Bill of Materials structuring; and familiarity with defense standards such as MIL-STD-881 and DOD MRA frameworks.
