Ascendis Pharma, a global biopharmaceutical company, is seeking a Finance Analyst to join its Financial Controlling team within Finance Operations in Hellerup, Denmark. The role combines hands-on financial control with process improvement and digital development to create scalable ways of working across the global Finance organization.
You will report to the Senior Director of Finance Operations and work alongside five colleagues covering inventory, production economy, standard cost, payroll, warrants, RSU controlling, transfer pricing, and related areas. This is a fast-paced environment with cross-functional, global collaboration.
Key responsibilities include owning and coordinating balance sheet reconciliations across multiple legal entities, supporting fixed assets, lease accounting, and PO accruals. You will participate in month-end closing, SOX controls, and IFRS-related accounting activities to ensure accurate and transparent finance reporting. A significant part of the role involves identifying opportunities to simplify, standardize, and automate finance processes, driving process documentation and governance through the Finance Process House.
You will also participate in system optimization and implementation projects, including the Impero month-end close tool, and use systems, data, and technology to improve quality, efficiency, and user experience while supporting adoption of new digital tools.
Required qualifications include a relevant academic degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field, with approximately 2–6 years of experience in finance operations, accounting, auditing, controlling, or similar areas. You should be comfortable with financial data and ERP systems, with Microsoft D365 Finance experience being advantageous. Strong Microsoft Office skills, knowledge of financial controls and accounting principles (IFRS knowledge a plus), and effective English communication are essential.
