Taekus is a profitable fintech and travel startup serving affluent customers with premium banking and rewards. The company generates $100M+ in annual revenue and processes $4B+ in transaction volume annually. You will join as Finance & Accounting Manager, reporting to the Head of Finance. The core challenge: Taekus's external bookkeeping and internal financial model operate in separate worlds. You will be the bridge, reconciling discrepancies, mapping accounts, and aligning how the books are structured with how the business is modeled and forecasted. Key responsibilities include: - Serve as liaison between external bookkeepers and internal financial model, reconciling differences and ensuring alignment - Own accounting and reporting processes end-to-end, supporting finance and business partners - Lead accounting tasks and projects with judgment to keep momentum and ensure sound decisions during monthly close - Restructure the chart of accounts so reporting reflects actual operations and forecasting - Transition bookkeeping in-house over time, taking ownership of month-end close, reconciliations, and reporting - Manage day-to-day finance admin: AP/AR, invoicing, vendor management, expense management, payroll coordination - Assess internal control effectiveness and design new processes for emerging business activities - Identify process improvement and automation opportunities - Build and maintain Excel models and reporting connecting actuals to forecast - Support leadership with variance analysis and ad hoc analysis, escalating risks as needed You bring 2–4 years of accounting experience with a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field. You have solid accounting fundamentals (debits/credits, accruals, month-end close), strong Excel skills, and ideally experience with BI tools. You've demonstrated hands-on use of AI tools integrated into workflows (not just chat). You have a strong sense of ownership, comfort with end-to-end workflows at lean startups, and attention to detail when reconciling conflicting data sets.
