Salary: USD 113,000 - 155,000 / annual
Anduril Industries is seeking a Field Network Technician to join the Maneuver Dominance Technical Operations team. This role bridges product engineering and deployed operations for autonomy-enabled UAVs, requiring extreme ownership of technical dependencies to ensure mission success in austere, remote environments.
You will be embedded within an air vehicle development program, leveraging operations and technical expertise to deploy solutions of maximum effectiveness and reliability. Key responsibilities include standing up forward-deployed operations in austere environments, ensuring successful combat employment of Anduril products, and shaping long-term sustainment strategies. You will also support vehicle autonomy development through test events and customer demonstrations.
Required qualifications include extensive hands-on technical experience in field operations, manufacturing, or testing. Prior military or defense contractor experience is essential—specifically as a manned/unmanned pilot, network technician, or crew chief/maintainer (avionics, GNC, electrical). You must demonstrate deep understanding of flight operations, aircraft systems, and sensors, with proven ability to solve problems at the hardware-software-operations interface.
Strong cross-functional collaboration skills are critical, including ability to reconcile differing opinions and drive agreement on solutions. You must be proficient in data-driven root cause analysis using logs. Intermediate-to-advanced technical skills required in: terminal/server environments, programming languages (Python, Rust, MATLAB), IP networking and network administration/design, and radio systems (MANET, SATCOM, backhaul).
Additional requirements: demonstrated ability to train peers and customers, prior operationally relevant deployment experience, willingness to travel up to 80% including occasional 2-month deployments, ability to work extended hours, eligibility for Top Secret security clearance, and ability to meet health/medical requirements per DFARS 252.225-7040 and DoDI 3020.41.
Preferred qualifications include bachelor's degree in aerospace, mechanical, or related engineering discipline, and hands-on experience with developmental weapon/missile systems on manned or unmanned aircraft. Experience with autonomy (behavior trees, CV models, multi-vehicle operation), ground-based air defense systems, air-breathing propulsion, flight line operations, or munitions handling is valued.
