Gecko Robotics is seeking a Field & Events Marketing Manager to own the company's conference and trade show strategy across government, defense, oil and gas, power, and critical infrastructure markets. This is a hands-on role combining strategic planning with full execution responsibility.
You will develop Gecko's events strategy, determining where to invest and creating experiences that engage priority accounts and support business growth. Key responsibilities include owning conference and trade show strategy aligned with priority markets and business objectives; determining Gecko's presence at each event based on audience and opportunity; leading end-to-end execution including budgets, sponsorships, vendors, booth builds, logistics, demonstrations, and on-site operations; partnering with Business Development to establish event goals, engage priority accounts, and coordinate executive meetings; collaborating with Marketing, Communications, and Design on messaging and physical experiences; building relationships with event organizers for speaking opportunities and sponsorships; measuring event performance through target-account engagement, pipeline influence, and ROI; building repeatable processes and vendor relationships; and supporting VIP visits and customer experiences.
Required qualifications include 5+ years owning B2B conferences, trade shows, field marketing, or experiential marketing from strategy through execution; demonstrated success managing complex event logistics, vendors, budgets, and sponsorships; experience partnering with Sales or Business Development on relationship-driven sales cycles; strong project management skills; sound judgment on scaling event presence; strong communication skills and executive presence; high-agency, hands-on approach; and willingness to relocate to Pittsburgh. The role requires approximately 40–60% travel including occasional evenings and weekends.
Preferred experience includes background in government, defense, oil and gas, power, energy, or critical infrastructure; familiarity with marketing complex technical or physical products; knowledge of account-based marketing and event ROI measurement; and track record producing large-scale booth builds and executive-level customer experiences.
