MinIO is seeking a Field CTO to serve as the premier technical ambassador bridging engineering innovation with strategic enterprise customer needs. This is a VP-level role requiring 10+ years of technical leadership experience (Enterprise Architect, Chief Architect, VP Engineering, or previous Field CTO roles).
You will engage in peer-to-peer conversations with Fortune 500 C-suite executives (CIOs, CTOs, CDOs) and lead architectural discussions with principal engineers. Core responsibilities include: (1) Executive Advisory & Evangelism—acting as trusted technical advisor to C-level executives, articulating strategic value of high-performance object storage for AI readiness and data democratization; (2) Architectural Leadership—designing and validating complex, large-scale architectures for enterprise customers, guiding integration of MinIO into AI/ML pipelines and modern data lakehouse ecosystems; (3) Industry Thought Leadership—representing MinIO at major conferences, webinars, and meetups, writing technical whitepapers and reference architectures on object storage, generative AI, and modern analytics; (4) Pre-Sales & Post-Sales Strategic Support—partnering with enterprise sales and customer success teams on high-stakes deals, unblocking technical objections during PoCs and large-scale deployments; (5) Product Strategy Feedback—serving as voice of customer to product and engineering teams, distilling market trends and emerging AI/Analytics patterns into actionable requirements.
Required expertise: Deep architectural understanding of Generative AI, LLMs, RAG workflows, and vector databases (Milvus, Qdrant, Pinecone); strong knowledge of AI/ML data pipelines and frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Ray, Hugging Face); understanding of GPU data starvation challenges and high-throughput storage solutions; expertise in Open Table Formats (Apache Iceberg, Apache Hudi, Delta Lake); proficiency with modern query engines (Trino, Presto, Spark, Flink, StarRocks); solid grasp of Data Lakehouse architectures; strong command of Kubernetes, containerization, and cloud-native orchestration; deep understanding of AWS S3 API, RESTful APIs, and distributed systems design. Demonstrated experience in customer-facing or evangelist capacity, successfully presenting to both technical audiences and C-level executives.
