Element Biosciences is seeking an experienced Field Application Scientist to support its growing customer base across the EMEA region. This role is critical to customer success, combining technical expertise in next-generation sequencing (NGS) with field-based customer engagement.
You will be the technical bridge between Element Biosciences and its customers, traveling frequently to customer sites (up to 80% international travel) to provide hands-on support, troubleshooting, and training. Your responsibilities include:
- Troubleshooting technical issues spanning user skills, biochemistry, assay design, experimental design, software, and instruments
- Delivering product training and customer workshops both in-person and remotely
- Supporting the commercial team and distributor network with technical expertise and account management
- Providing strategic feedback to marketing and product development teams based on customer interactions
- Leading or managing beta tests at customer sites
- Collaborating with internal teams to resolve customer issues and improve processes
- Utilizing CRM software to document customer opportunities and interactions
- Supporting pre- and post-sale strategic activities requiring both technical depth and market knowledge
You will report to the Senior Manager, Field Applications - EMEA, and work independently on significant technical issues while collaborating with key decision-makers across the organization.

**Requirements:**
- Bachelor's degree with 4+ years OR Master's degree with 2+ years in NGS library construction (combination of experience and education considered)
- Hands-on experience with cell culture and tissue handling (required)
- Experience with NGS sequencing instruments, sequencing run setup, and NGS sample/library prep workflows (preferred)
- Hands-on skills in nucleic acids and protein analytical methods
- Ability to generate high-quality, reproducible wet-lab data from established protocols
- Experience with cell biology, microscopy, and multiomics (preferred)
- Demonstrated account management skills
- Strong problem-solving ability and high degree of comfort with technical project discussions
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Highly collaborative and adaptable; able to work well within multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to work independently and as a team player
- Fluent in French and English (must-have)
- Physical capability to frequently move boxes weighing up to 20 pounds
- Flexibility for customer support during non-regular business hours
- Must be physically located in the territory and willing to travel frequently
