Verkada is seeking a Federal Field Solutions Engineer based in the Western US to partner directly with territory account executives in expanding the company's footprint into Fortune 500 companies. The role combines technical expertise with sales support, requiring deep knowledge of Verkada's integrated physical security platform (video security, access control, air quality sensors, alarms, intercoms, and visitor management).
Key responsibilities include serving as the subject matter expert on Verkada's full product suite, overcoming technical objections during the sales process, designing customer deployments, and providing technical assistance to account representatives. You will interface directly with customers and partners at all levels—from C-suite executives to loss prevention managers and IT directors—presenting solutions and educating stakeholders on Verkada's latest offerings.
The role requires 3+ years of sales engineering experience, preferably with Fortune 500 companies. Required technical background includes strong networking fundamentals (HTTPS, VLANs, TCP/IP, DNS, NAT, DHCP, firewalls), cloud security, IoT systems, Linux systems, and security surveillance/access control knowledge. A bachelor's degree in a relevant technical or security field is required.
Bonus qualifications include industry certifications (AWS, CCNA, CCDA, CCNP, MCSE, CEH, Security+, A+, Network+, Azure, CISCP, CSP), experience with Active Directory, SAML/SCIM, APIs, Python, and startup background. Excellent written and verbal English communication skills are essential.
Note: This role requires regular travel exceeding 50% of the time, including both domestic and international destinations. Candidates must be independently authorized to work in the U.S.; visa sponsorship is not available.
