Peregrine Technologies, backed by leading Silicon Valley investors, builds an AI-enabled platform that transforms siloed data into operational intelligence for public safety organizations, state and local governments, federal agencies, and private-sector institutions. The platform currently supports hundreds of customers across 30+ states and two countries, serving over 125 million people. You will be the founding product marketer for Peregrine's federal market expansion, reporting to the VP of Product Marketing. This is a full-stack product marketing role with no existing federal marketing foundation—you will build it from the ground up, working directly in the field alongside capture, pre-sales, and pursuit teams. Key responsibilities include: - Owning federal positioning and messaging by translating proven state and local law enforcement deployments to federal missions, with emphasis on auditability, access controls, and accountable AI - Running discovery in unproven federal segments through win-loss analysis, buyer research, and messaging hypothesis testing in live pursuits - Feeding product marketing messaging into capture-led win strategies, including positioning, competitive counters, and claim validation for briefings, RFI responses, and proposals - Building pre-solicitation content (capability briefings, mission white papers, industry day materials) to influence acquisitions at scale - Arming pre-sales teams with first-call narratives, demo storylines, and objection handling frameworks - Partnering with the growth team on early test campaigns: defining segments, identifying industry partners and events, and producing market-facing assets - Packaging deployment proof into federal-ready evidence (case studies, references, outcome data cleared for public use) - Feeding pursuit and campaign learning back into positioning and product strategy Success looks like: delivering the federal case yourself in program office briefings using buyer language; having capture and pre-sales adopt your positioning unprompted; landing positioning before solicitations drop; making documented pursue-or-pass decisions on adjacent segments; ensuring federal claims survive contracting and security review; and building federal-ready deployment proof that pre-sales uses without legal review on every send. You thrive in this role if you've built a marketing motion from nothing, go directly to the source (program offices, contracting officers, field agents), form point of view from thin data and revise when evidence moves, say only what's proven even under pursuit pressure, want to be onsite in DC and at industry events, and have concrete understanding of federal agencies and the problems they solve. REQUIREMENTS: - 7+ years in product marketing or adjacent go-to-market roles - 3+ years marketing or selling technology to the US federal government - Demonstrated authorship that changed an outcome (positioning document that moved a deal, requirement, or executive decision) - Working knowledge of the federal procurement lifecycle and compliance frameworks federal buyers evaluate against - Range across the full product marketing stack: positioning, pursuit support, enablement, and campaign execution - Comfort treating unmapped segments as research problems with deadlines - Judgment on when a claim is proven versus promising, built working alongside technical field teams - Ability to operate across two registers: technical depth for program offices, plain language for public surfaces
