Anthropic is seeking an experienced Executive Communications Writer to support and scale how the company's leaders communicate its story to priority audiences. You will work closely with the Head of Executive Communications and senior organization leaders to compellingly communicate Anthropic's position at the AI research frontier, market-leading commercial posture, and industry-leading commitment to public benefit.
Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting and editing executive communications, brainstorming messaging strategies, providing on-site event support, and coordinating executive response to breaking news in close collaboration with the External Communications team and other leaders. You'll be an adept storyteller and experienced partner to leaders, navigating ambiguous situations with sound judgment. The role requires capability in shaping highly technical materials that reach sophisticated audiences with deep domain expertise.
Anthropric is particularly interested in candidates with experience in at least one domain relevant to the executive roster: science and research, products and AI architecture, enterprise and commercial strategy, or visual storytelling and brand.
Key responsibilities:
- Originate and shape exceptional executive communications across written and rhetorical formats and platforms
- Work cross-functionally with External Communications colleagues and subject matter experts to drive strategic communications moments
- Support senior leaders in developing their communications focus and preparing for major communications moments
- Balance collaborative approach with strategic point of view
Ideal candidates bring 8+ years of high-level executive communications experience, ideally at a high-tempo, industry-shaping organization. You are an exceptional writer and communicator in both high-stakes, fast-moving environments and on the page. You demonstrate high agency and low ego, comfort supporting senior leaders, and strong operational capabilities. You are self-driven with a bias to action, show excellent judgment in ambiguous situations, maintain epistemic humility, and bring an open, curious mindset to understanding technical concepts.
The role is hybrid with expectation of in-office presence at least 25% of the time at either the San Francisco or New York City office.
