xAI is seeking an exceptional product designer to help shape the next generation of consumer products across X and Grok, including social platforms, AI-powered interfaces, and novel interaction paradigms. You will work at the intersection of design, engineering, and research to transform complex AI systems into simple, elegant experiences used by millions.
In this role, you'll own end-to-end product experiences, from understanding user needs and behaviors to shipping polished features. You'll leverage both traditional and AI-assisted design tools to rapidly explore, prototype, and iterate. Close collaboration with engineering and product teams is essential to delivering high-quality experiences.
You'll contribute to shared design systems and product standards while using qualitative research, product data, and intuition to guide design decisions. The role is ideal for designers excited about how AI tools are becoming part of the design and prototyping process itself, not just the final product.
Key responsibilities include designing consumer product experiences across web and mobile, deeply understanding user needs and emerging use cases, rapidly prototyping with modern tools, partnering with engineering to ship polished work, and contributing to design standards.
You should have shipped meaningful consumer product features, thrive in fast-moving and ambiguous environments, and embrace new design workflows including AI-assisted tooling. A strong portfolio demonstrating product thinking and execution is essential. Experience designing consumer-facing products at scale, familiarity with modern design and prototyping tools, and close collaboration with engineers and product partners are highly valued. An interest in language models, social systems, or both is a plus.
