Chainguard is a venture-backed software supply-chain security company that delivers hardened, secure, production-ready builds of open source software. The company serves Fortune 500 enterprises and global leaders including OpenAI, Snap Inc., Snowflake, and Anduril.
As an Enterprise Sales Engineer, you will be the technical bridge between prospects and Chainguard's product team. You will assess technical requirements, demonstrate how Chainguard's solutions address customer needs, and cultivate relationships with decision-makers across organizations. Your role combines deep technical knowledge with consultative selling to secure deals through demos, RFP/RFI responses, proof-of-value engagements, and industry events.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partner with the sales team to help customers evaluate and prove the value of Chainguard's solutions
- Own all technical aspects of sales opportunities, from initial discovery through close
- Conduct product demonstrations and proof-of-concept engagements
- Listen to customer challenges and translate them into technical solutions
- Actively participate in webinars, meetups, and conferences
- Focus on acquiring new customer logos while growing the existing customer base
You should have 3+ years of enterprise and mid-market sales engineering experience, with expertise in container technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, Serverless), cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), and cloud/container security. Familiarity with MEDDPICC and Command of the Message sales frameworks is expected. Startup experience is valued. You are a trusted advisor who builds credibility with customers, acts as a strong team player, and can mentor peers.
