As an Enterprise Sales Engineer at Datadog, you'll partner with Account Executives to help enterprise customers understand and adopt the Datadog observability and security platform. You'll own the technical strategy across the sales cycle, from prospecting through closed won, acting as a trusted advisor who bridges business goals with technical solutions.
Key responsibilities include leading customer discovery sessions to uncover technical challenges and business objectives, then translating those into tailored Datadog solutions. You'll deliver compelling product demos, technical presentations, and workshops that connect platform capabilities to customer outcomes. You'll project-manage proof-of-concept evaluations end-to-end, including scoping use cases, defining success criteria, building project plans, and ensuring accountability throughout the process.
You'll identify and cultivate technical champions within customer accounts, empowering them to advocate for Datadog internally and drive consensus. You'll participate in structured feedback sessions with product and engineering teams, serving as the voice of the customer to help shape product direction. Cross-functional collaboration with Product, Support, and GTM teams is essential to address customer needs and resolve technical blockers.
You'll maintain operational excellence by documenting activity, deal progress, and customer interactions in CRM systems. The role requires navigating multi-stakeholder environments, adapting communication style for technical, business, and executive audiences, and managing multiple opportunities in a fast-paced environment.
Required qualifications include 5+ years in Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, or technical customer-facing roles in enterprise environments. You'll need proficiency in public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), Kubernetes, APM/tracing, security, and observability. Strong communication skills, consultative problem-solving, and willingness to travel as needed are essential. The role is based in Jakarta with a hybrid work arrangement.
