As an Enterprise Account Manager reporting to the Director of Account Management, you will own and manage a portfolio of existing premium employer partners, serving as their primary point of contact. Your responsibilities include:
- Renewing, upselling, and cross-selling to an assigned book of existing employer partners with emphasis on growth
- Developing deep relationships with senior executives (Director through C-suite level) at partner organizations
- Learning your book of business thoroughly to position Handshake's value proposition against key customer business challenges
- Partnering closely with the Employer Customer Success Team to ensure customer adoption and success
- Managing and presenting data-driven Quarterly Business Reviews
- Engaging customers in Handshake events and marketing initiatives
- Serving as the internal advocate and escalation point for customer issues
- Identifying and developing scalable account management tools and methodologies for the broader team
- Becoming a Handshake expert in HR and higher education technology
This role combines sales, relationship management, and customer satisfaction. You will work with top employers across the nation to drive their early talent recruiting strategy and manage customer loyalty throughout the lifecycle from onboarding through renewal.
The role requires onsite presence in the San Francisco or New York office, 5 days per week, with travel as needed for customer engagements.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 2+ years of Enterprise SaaS sales or Account Management experience; 5+ years in a closing and quota-carrying role
- Experience preparing renewal proposals, forecasting, and account planning
- Strong history of quota attainment and excellent performance on high-performing teams
- Experience with evangelical sales, selling non-discretionary software to Fortune 1000 company executives
- Experience managing customer relationships alongside a Customer Success team
- Ability to use usage data, analytics, and results to demonstrate value and justify expansion
- Excellent communication skills with polished, professional sales presentation abilities
- Experience operating in a high-growth business environment
