Salary: USD 220,000 - 450,000 / annual
Sentry is an application monitoring platform trusted by 200,000+ organizations. The Infrastructure Engineering team builds the internal control platforms, configuration systems, traffic routing, and automation that enable product engineers across the company to operate services safely at scale without requiring deep infrastructure expertise.
As Engineering Manager for Infrastructure Engineering, you will lead a team of engineers responsible for building and maintaining the internal tools that power Sentry's operational model. Your responsibilities include:
- Leading a team of engineers who build internal control platforms, configuration management systems, traffic routing, and environment controls that every engineering team at Sentry depends on.
- Driving the technical evolution of Infrastructure Engineering's platform, including architecture decisions around APIs, internal tooling design, and automation frameworks.
- Owning the team's technical direction and contributing to key architectural decisions.
- Growing and developing engineers at different levels through coaching, mentorship, and career development.
- Fostering an inclusive, high-performing team culture centered on ownership, learning, and delivery.
- Partnering with Production Engineering, SRE, and Developer Infrastructure teams to ensure operational tooling remains consistent and well-scoped across the organization.
- Owning the reliability, adoption, and roadmap of your team's tools while building a culture of technical excellence and pragmatic decision-making.

REQUIREMENTS:
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, ideally with focus on internal tooling, infrastructure automation, platform engineering, or distributed systems
- 4+ years of engineering management experience, including growing and managing teams of engineers
- Experience as a Tech Lead or Engineering Manager leading architecture and long-term evolution of internal control platforms or similar systems
- Strong backend or full-stack engineering background with solid Python skills
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, Terraform, Python, and systems mindset for abstracting complex infrastructure
- Strong technical communication skills and track record of effective cross-team and leadership collaboration
- Proven experience delivering and owning multi-year engineering initiatives in leadership or technical leadership capacity
- Comfortable working across organizational boundaries and aligning priorities across infrastructure, platform, and product teams
