Rippling is seeking a deeply technical Engineering Manager (M7 level) to lead a high-impact engineering team building scalable, fully automated IT product and infrastructure. The Inventory Management engineering team sits at the heart of Rippling's IT business unit, which bridges digital identity and physical hardware management.
The role focuses on building the global system of record that orchestrates Rippling's hardware supply chain, global warehouse networks, and end-to-end device lifecycles. When a customer hires an employee, the platform automates the entire provisioning, configuration, and device shipping pipeline—reconciling asynchronous, unpredictable human workflows in physical warehouses with atomic, high-throughput backend software states.
Key product domains include:
- Global Supply Chain System of Record: Developing high-concurrency architecture to track physical hardware state transitions seamlessly across suppliers, global warehouse networks, transit hubs, and end-user locations.
- Device Lifecycle Management: Building systems that handle device provisioning, configuration, deployment, and decommissioning at scale.
- Warehouse Orchestration: Creating intelligent systems that coordinate complex, multi-step fulfillment workflows across distributed global facilities.
Rippling is a well-funded HR, IT, and Finance platform that consolidates workforce systems (payroll, expenses, benefits, computers) into a single integrated platform. The company has raised $1.4B+ from top-tier investors including Kleiner Perkins, Founders Fund, and Sequoia, and was named one of America's best startup employers by Forbes.
This is a people-management role leading a technical team focused on mission-critical infrastructure that powers Rippling's IT automation capabilities.
