Testlio is a fully managed crowdsourced testing platform that integrates expert testers into release processes, serving enterprise clients globally across 600,000+ devices, 800+ payment methods, 150+ countries, and 100+ languages. The company is profitable, cash-strong, and growing with high customer retention (many clients 7+ years, spending $500K+/year).
You will lead the engineering team responsible for the core platform capabilities—the features clients use daily to plan, run, and manage testing. This is a hands-on manager role reporting to the Director of Engineering, combining ~20–30% hands-on coding with team leadership, technical strategy, and delivery ownership.
Key responsibilities include: owning technical direction and delivery for core platform domains; leading the design and implementation of agentic workflows that move beyond assistive features toward autonomous testing planning and execution; modernizing the fragmented data model and legacy services to enable safe agent behavior; establishing effective engineering operating rhythms (planning, prioritization, design reviews); partnering closely with product on roadmap and architecture; managing production support, escalations, and root-cause resolution; and raising team operating standards.
You'll work on platform modernization—consolidating data models, evolving legacy services, and bringing transactional integrity to older data stores. You'll collaborate with the AI/ML team on underlying models and frameworks, and with product leadership on strategic direction. The role emphasizes balancing delivery speed with long-term scalability, staying close to the codebase, and empowering the team to own and deliver independently.
This is a 100% remote role open to candidates in the UK, Spain, Portugal, Poland, Czech Republic, Romania, and Estonia. Visa sponsorship is not available. Testlio is female-founded, nearly half the team identifies as women, and the culture emphasizes inclusive collaboration, asynchronous remote work, flexible PTO, stock options, and a $300 annual learning stipend.
