Salary: USD 172,800 - 216,000 / annual
Scale AI is seeking an Employee Relations Partner to independently manage their North America employee relations caseload across the US and Mexico. This is a senior individual contributor role focused on solving complex, ambiguous workplace issues without relying on existing playbooks.
Key responsibilities include:
- Independently own and manage a full caseload of ER cases including performance management, investigations, and separations
- Diagnose novel workplace issues and construct sound solutions when precedent doesn't exist
- Conduct thorough, legally-sound workplace investigations from intake through closure
- Coach managers through sensitive performance and conduct conversations
- Partner with Legal to assess risk and align on documentation and resolution strategy
- Maintain defensible case documentation in HR Acuity case management system
- Manage employee separations end-to-end with coordination across Workplace and Legal teams
- Support HR Business Partners with ER training, policy guidance, and escalation triage
- Contribute to scaling ER infrastructure including Whistleblower Hotline and Competitors Escalation Program
Required qualifications:
- 5+ years of employee relations experience with direct ownership of workplace investigations
- Proven track record solving genuinely ambiguous, first-of-their-kind cases
- Strong working knowledge of US employment law
- Experience with formal ER case management systems
- Excellent written communication and documentation skills
- Sound judgment handling highly confidential information
Preferred qualifications include experience supporting global teams (especially Mexico), high-growth tech/startup environments, building ER processes from early stage, and EMEA region support.
