Hex Technologies is seeking an experienced Employee Experience Lead to own the full employee lifecycle experience, reporting to the Head of People. This is a hybrid role based in San Francisco with an expectation of being in-office at least three days per week.
You will redesign and lead new hire onboarding to ensure that by the end of week two, new employees feel productive, connected, and genuinely excited to join Hex. This includes designing the pre-boarding experience, hosting engaging onboarding sessions with strong storytelling and stage presence, building micro-communities within each cohort, and establishing measurable metrics to track onboarding effectiveness.
Beyond onboarding, you'll shape critical company moments and communications. You'll support all-hands meetings and company events as intentional storytelling experiences rather than logistical exercises. You'll help reset Slack communication norms to reduce overwhelm and ensure information flows clearly. You'll own the company kickoff (CKO) end-to-end, partner with the revenue team on quarterly business reviews, and create a self-serve portal for team leads to run standardized team offsites (colos) with templates, activity ideas, and budgets.
You'll also lead the workplace experience across Hex's offices. This includes project managing the NYC office buildout with the design firm, managing SF and NYC office coordinators as direct reports, and driving in-office engagement through programming, food, and amenities that are measured and iterated based on team feedback.
You are a natural storyteller and host who can hold a room and land narratives that make people feel something. You have a track record of out-of-distribution thinking and designing memorable experiences. You're a builder who ships durable, repeatable systems rather than one-offs. You instinctively partner with AI and automation on repeatable work to free your energy for high-craft human moments. You're high-agency, comfortable with ambiguity, and hold a stunning bar for quality in everything you ship.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience running events, onboarding programs, workplace initiatives, or internal communications
- Proven ability to design and execute durable, repeatable programs (not one-off initiatives)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to tell compelling stories
- Track record of creative, out-of-distribution thinking in experience design
- Comfort with ambiguity and high agency in setting direction without a detailed roadmap
- Experience managing people (office coordinators or similar roles)
- Familiarity with or enthusiasm for AI and automation tools
- Strong project management skills for complex initiatives (office buildouts, large events)
