Astranis builds advanced satellites for high orbits, serving large enterprises, sovereign governments, and the US military. With five satellites on orbit and a backlog exceeding $1 billion in commercial contracts, the company is scaling rapidly.
As Electrical Test Supervisor, you will lead a team of electrical test specialists and technicians through integration and test of Astranis satellites, both current and next-generation. You'll manage team hiring, mentoring, and training while ensuring smooth test operations as production scales.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage and develop a team of test specialists and technicians, providing mentorship and professional growth opportunities
- Serve as primary point-of-contact for all test operations on the production floor
- Manage workloads to achieve weekly goals and ensure consistent cross-functional training
- Communicate and escalate needs, blockers, and priorities upwards and laterally
- Lead firefighting, issue resolution, schedule management, and shift leadership
- Collaborate with other leaders on priorities, resource needs, and timelines
- Hire, onboard, and train new specialists in day-to-day operations
- Lead hardware and software development projects that streamline satellite production
- Maintain specialist work areas and ownership of quality standards
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in science or engineering with 2+ years experience, OR 4+ years equivalent technical experience
- Strong communication skills tailored to different audiences
- Demonstrated leadership ability among peers
- Experience testing and debugging complex electrical systems
- Experience training others and implementing processes to raise technical bars (software, hardware, debug, safety)
- Willingness to work all shifts and weekends as needed, including 24/7 operations support for critical campaigns
Bonus qualifications: RF test experience, software engineering background, prior leadership experience.
