Anduril Industries is seeking an Electrical Engineer, Sustainment to join the Air and Ground Deterrence (AGD) Division in Irvine, California. The AGD Division develops integrated robotic systems for multi-domain situational awareness and force protection across land, sea, and air. The Sentry Hardware team serves as the key system integrator for the Anduril Sentry Family of Systems, which leverages AI-enabled edge processing, 360-degree pan/tilt capability, and various radars and sensors to autonomously identify, detect, and track objects of interest for borders, military bases, critical infrastructure, and other applications.
In this role, you will own the design and sustainment of ruggedized electronics, scaling legacy design concepts to support full-rate production. You will partner with Architecture and Product Management teams to drive system requirements and own full PCB and electrical system design. Key responsibilities include identifying high-risk areas, creating and validating electronics designs for embedded compute and power systems, testing for long-term reliability, and considering manufacturability and testability in design.
Your day-to-day work will involve taking ownership as the main point of contact for electrical integration activities, providing hands-on and in-field support of prototype and production-level products, collaborating with mechanical engineers to optimize component selection and integration, trading off component selections against size, weight, power, and EMC requirements, and working with the design team to achieve system-level reliability goals. You will manage involvement in multiple projects at various stages in a fast-paced environment supporting new developments, active deployments, and customer-operated hardware.
Required qualifications include the ability to design digital and analog electronics from concept through production-ready product, troubleshoot existing hardware to find root causes and implement improvements, develop clear documentation for design requirements and test coverage, complete full-cycle PCB design including schematic, layout, bring-up, test, debug, and validation, and work collaboratively with mechanical, software, firmware, and test engineers. You must be eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, 4+ years of experience designing and troubleshooting complex board designs, competence with test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, thermal chambers), familiarity with switch-mode power supply design, knowledge of standard interfaces (Ethernet, CAN, I2C, SPI, PCIe, USB), and familiarity with MCU, CPU, and FPGA devices.
