Salary: USD 90,000 - 140,000 / annual
Lunar Energy is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the power electronics team and contribute to the full product development lifecycle of home energy storage systems and clean energy products. This role focuses on automated test equipment (ATE) design and validation, with hands-on responsibility for creating tester interface boards, bringing up systems, and validating functionality across power electronic systems, DC/DC converters, and inverters.
Day-to-day responsibilities include detail-level design of PCB-based tester interface boards, system bring-up and testing to validate functionality and optimize performance, collaboration on efficient test and validation mechanisms for individual PCBAs and complete systems, and support for custom test card and apparatus development. You will work cross-functionally with mechanical, thermal, reliability, and firmware engineering teams to optimize products, own the electrical aspects from design through prototype, validation, and manufacturing, and apply strong debugging and troubleshooting skills down to the component level.
The ideal candidate holds a BS in Electrical Engineering with 3+ years of power electronics design experience. Required skills include proficiency with Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB layout, experience with battery management systems, inverters, and charge systems, and strong lab skills with oscilloscopes, impedance analyzers, and high-voltage/high-current test equipment. Additional expertise in embedded control, microcontroller programming, analog circuit design (op-amps, power supplies), and mixed-signal design with noise analysis is highly valued. Hands-on prototyping and rework skills (soldering, paste application, flux cleaning) are essential.
