Lumilens is building photonics infrastructure for AI supercomputing, including chip-to-chip optical interconnects and scalable photonic engines. The company is Series B-funded and led by industry veterans.
As EDA & CAD Manager, you will build and manage a robust design environment supporting multiple IC design disciplines. You'll own EDA methodology, CAD flows, design infrastructure, tool administration, and automation to enable faster, more reliable silicon development.
Key responsibilities:
- Support IC design and IT leadership with EDA tool upgrades, infrastructure improvements, and methodology enhancements across analog, mixed-signal, layout, verification, and digital design environments
- Manage repositories for PDKs, internal and external IP, design data, and tools from multiple vendors, ensuring configuration control and ease of adoption
- Advise leadership on EDA methodology improvements, design environment scalability, and infrastructure investments
- Develop, deploy, and maintain custom tools, scripts, automation, and plug-ins to improve designer productivity
- Support CAD flows integrating Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre, Pegasus, Genus, Innovus, Xcelium, Synopsys IC Compiler, Siemens EDA, Calibre, and related verification infrastructure
- Maintain and troubleshoot EDA infrastructure including Linux/Unix environments, compute-farm integration, environment modules, tool-version management, license servers
- Build and support automated regression, validation, build, and deployment pipelines
- Stay current with EDA tool advancements, CAD methodologies, and design infrastructure relevant to company goals
REQUIREMENTS:
- Deep understanding of Cadence/Synopsys tool flows, including analog and mixed-signal design tools (Virtuoso, AMS, Spectre)
- Hands-on experience with layout and signoff tools (PVS, Pegasus, Calibre) and synthesis/APR tools (Genus, Innovus, Fusion Compiler)
- Experience supporting multiple PDKs simultaneously; familiarity with Intel, TSMC, and GlobalFoundries preferred
- Strong experience with revision control and repository administration (Perforce, VersIC, Git, or similar)
- Experience managing internal and external IP, design data, PDK releases, and tool environments across multiple vendors
- Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, Perl, Tcl, Bash/Shell, and SKILL
- Experience administering and troubleshooting FlexNet/FlexLM license environments
- Strong Linux and Unix troubleshooting skills, including LSF, Slurm, or Grid Engine compute-farm integration
- Demonstrated history of solving complex EDA problems and improving design environment reliability and scalability
Nice-to-haves: experience with remote computing environments (ETX), supporting international engineering teams, systems administration across Linux/storage/compute, build systems (Make, CMake), and CI/CD infrastructure (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions).
