Rubrik, a publicly traded data security and AI transformation company with $1.57B in ARR, is seeking a Director of Product Design to lead its Bangalore-based design organization. You will oversee a strategic design function within a 60-person global design team, reporting to VP/Director-level leadership in Product and Engineering.
Key responsibilities include building and mentoring a world-class design team, defining long-term design strategy aligned with business goals, ensuring design excellence across all product deliverables, and establishing processes that balance speed with quality. You will champion design as a competitive differentiator in enterprise security and AI infrastructure, bridging technical complexity with consumer-grade usability. The role requires deep customer engagement, leading research and validation efforts, and evangelizing design culture across the organization.
You will partner closely with Product Management and Engineering leadership to transform business objectives into actionable design roadmaps, oversee end-to-end execution of complex product areas, and maintain high standards for craft, usability, and visual consistency. The team has won Red Dot and iF Design Awards, reflecting the caliber of work expected.
Required qualifications: 12+ years in product design with at least 5+ years in formal people management. You should have a portfolio demonstrating complex problem-solving, organizational leadership, and successful product launches. Strong business acumen, exceptional communication and presentation skills, and the ability to influence executives and inspire designers are essential. Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, or equivalent; Master's in HCI or MBA preferred.
