Ethos is a life insurance technology company transforming how life insurance is bought, sold, and underwritten through a three-sided platform serving consumers, agents, and carriers. The company offers instant, accessible products with no medical exams required, democratizing access to life insurance.
You will lead strategy and operations for Ethos's fast-growing Direct-to-Consumer business, driving high-impact growth initiatives from concept to results across an expanding product portfolio (term life, IUL, estate planning), multiple channels (organic, performance, paid social, TV, partnerships, referrals), and the full customer lifecycle (acquisition, retention, cross-sell).
Key responsibilities include: identifying and prioritizing growth opportunities across products, channels, and customer lifecycle stages; owning high-impact initiatives end-to-end while enabling other leaders; rigorously assessing opportunities through business case modeling and unit economics analysis (CAC, LTV, payback, contribution margin); developing deep understanding of product-channel-team interdependencies to guide cross-functional alignment; owning quarterly OKR planning and goal-setting across functions; leading critical cross-functional projects spanning product, engineering, marketing, sales, and partnerships; and championing AI adoption initiatives across the organization to drive step-change improvements in business metrics and operational efficiency.
This is a hands-on role for a strategist and builder with founder mindset who drives outcomes directly rather than making recommendations. You'll operate at the center of a high-growth consumer business, working with a naturally aligned, truth-seeking team that moves fast with minimal organizational process overhead.
Required: 10+ years total experience, ideally including 3+ years at a top-tier management consulting firm or investment banking, followed by 3+ years in Strategy & Operations at a high-growth venture-backed company or founding role. You must be genuinely AI-native—at the cutting edge of AI experimentation, using it to accomplish new things and make sharper decisions. You need a true operator mindset with a track record of delivering results directly, ability to go deep and zoom out on complex problems, structured thinking for breaking down ambiguous challenges, rapid learning capability, exceptional communication across C-level and operational details, and sharp decision-making with bias for action and speed.
