Motive empowers physical operations teams with a unified platform for fleet, safety, operations, and finance management. The company serves nearly 100,000 customers across transportation, logistics, construction, energy, field service, manufacturing, agriculture, food & beverage, retail, and public sector. As Director of Product Strategy, Monetization & Operations, you will own the commercial and financial engine of Motive's R&D organization. You will lead revenue, pricing, packaging, margin, and cost-reduction efforts across Product and Engineering, balancing near-term revenue strategy with long-term product and company direction. You will report to the Sr. Director of Product, build and lead your own team, and work daily with senior leaders across the company. Key responsibilities include: - Drive revenue expansion strategy for Motive's core and growing software SKUs; own pricing and packaging governance from analysis through launch and measurement. - Define how Motive views and manages R&D spend across devices, cellular, IoT, and software services; own the cost data foundation behind product-level margin and COGS. - Partner with product line leaders to identify and deliver revenue generation and cost-reduction initiatives that improve gross margin. - Size new product lines and adjacencies; work with product leadership to run proofs of concept and decide on market entry. - Shape long-term product and company strategy, turning market, customer, and competitive insight into multi-year plans and investment choices. - Run the operating cadence for R&D strategy, including planning, business reviews, and executive reporting. - Hire, build, and lead a team of strategy and operations professionals. You are an exceptional partner and rigorous analyst who earns trust across Product, Engineering, Finance, and Go-to-Market. You move fluidly between financial models and multi-year strategy, and take ownership of results, not just recommendations. Requirements: - 2+ years of experience in management consulting or investment banking. - 5+ years of operating experience in a business operations or corporate strategy role. - Advanced financial modeling skills, with the ability to turn analysis into clear recommendations for executives. - Track record of driving measurable business outcomes (revenue, margin, or cost), rather than recommendations alone. - Proven success partnering and influencing across functions and levels without direct authority. - Experience hiring, developing, and leading a team.
