Salary: USD 200,000 - 250,000 / annual
Via is a transportation technology platform serving as the backbone for modern transit networks worldwide. Remix is Via's premier transit planning and scheduling platform used by transit agencies globally.
You will serve as Director of Product for Remix, owning the vision and execution of the next generation of the platform: a multimodal planning and scheduling system that enables transit agencies to move from static schedules to data-driven, dynamically optimized operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Define and own the product vision and roadmap for Remix as the global standard for multimodal transit planning and scheduling, spanning fixed route, paratransit, microtransit, and emerging modes
- Build the framework for data-driven scheduling, enabling agencies to optimize driver and vehicle time through analysis of ridership patterns, operational constraints, and service goals
- Deeply understand and incorporate labor union rules, collective bargaining agreements, and workforce regulations into the product in a way that is structured yet flexible
- Connect planning and scheduling seamlessly to live operations, reducing gaps between scheduled and executed service
- Partner closely with engineering, design, data science, and go-to-market teams to move from vision to shipped product with clear milestones
- Engage directly with transit planners, schedulers, and operations leaders to surface unmet needs and validate product direction
- Stay current on industry trends, emerging regulations, and competitive dynamics
Your work will directly affect how millions of riders experience public transit daily. This is a high-impact, high-ownership role requiring both strategic vision and operational depth.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of product management experience, including ownership of complex enterprise software products
- Track record of shipping high-quality products for sophisticated, workflow-heavy enterprise environments where execution risk is high
- Systems thinker who can balance strategic vision with operational detail
- Strong ability to simplify complexity and translate divergent customer needs into clean, scalable product decisions
- Deep empathy for end users (planners, schedulers, dispatchers) and their working context
- Ability to quickly become technically fluent in scheduling and operations data models (blocks, runs, trips, stops, vehicles, duties, pairings) and engage at that level with engineers
- Strong, credible voice in technical architecture decisions alongside engineering partners
- Experience with resource management, labor scheduling, or workforce optimization software is a strong plus
- Experience in transportation, transit, or logistics is a plus but not required; intellectual curiosity and ability to learn technical domains quickly matter more
