Samsara (NYSE: IOT) is the pioneer of the Connected Operations Cloud, a platform enabling organizations to harness IoT data for actionable insights across physical operations. The company serves industries representing over 40% of global GDP—agriculture, construction, field services, transportation, and manufacturing—helping them digitally transform at scale.
The Product Design team is responsible for crafting user-friendly features, workflows, and interfaces that customers use daily to run their operations. This involves customer research, collaboration with engineers and product managers, rapid design iteration, and building design systems that ensure consistent user experience across all products.
As Director of Product Design, you will lead and grow a team of design managers, mentoring them to ship high-quality designs based on deep customer understanding. You'll engage directly with customers to understand their operations and pain points, then collaborate cross-functionally to define opportunities and deliver best-in-class experiences. You'll define and drive product design strategy across product areas, create tools and systems that improve team health and output, and champion Samsara's cultural principles as the company scales globally.
Key responsibilities include hiring and developing an inclusive, high-performing design team; providing feedback that accelerates career growth and improves product quality; identifying and instituting changes that enhance employee experiences; and shipping step-changes to UX that drive measurable customer and business impact. You'll work with partners across product, engineering, and leadership to ensure design excellence and consistency across Samsara's suite of IoT products including Video-Based Safety, Vehicle Telematics, Apps and Driver Workflows, and Equipment Monitoring.
