Rubrik, a publicly traded data security and AI transformation company with $1.57B in ARR, is seeking a Director of Product Design to lead its design organization in Palo Alto. You will oversee a world-class team of ~60 designers globally, reporting to VP/Director-level leadership in Product and Engineering. Key responsibilities include: **Team Leadership & Development**: Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing design team. You'll own career growth, coaching on both craft and soft skills, and building a culture of design excellence. **Strategic Vision & Roadmap**: Partner with senior Product and Engineering leaders to translate business goals into long-term design strategies. Balance immediate product needs with a North Star vision for enterprise UX. **Design Excellence & Quality**: Establish standards for craft, usability, and visual consistency across the product portfolio. Oversee end-to-end execution of complex product areas. **Process & Operations**: Build scalable design processes that enable speed without compromising user experience. Drive operational efficiency across the design function. **Design Advocacy**: Champion design as a competitive differentiator across the organization. Bridge the gap between technical complexity (cybersecurity, AI, infrastructure) and consumer-grade usability. Evangelize design culture to executives and cross-functional teams. **Customer-Centricity**: Lead the team in building direct customer relationships. Embed research and validation into the design cycle to stay grounded in real enterprise problems. Rubrik's design team has won Red Dot and iF Design Awards. The role offers the opportunity to scale design impact at a high-growth, publicly backed company pivoting toward AI transformation. Required: 3+ years formal people management experience, strong portfolio demonstrating team leadership and complex problem-solving, business acumen, exceptional communication and presentation skills, Bachelor's in Design or equivalent. Master's in HCI or MBA preferred.
