Function Health is a direct-to-consumer health platform that has democratized access to comprehensive health testing and management. Named a TIME100 Most Influential Company, Function has raised $350M from top-tier investors including a16z and Kevin Hart, and serves over a million users across diverse demographics and income levels at $1/day. As Director of Social and Influencer, you will own the full social media and creator strategy—a critical growth lever for Function's go-to-market. This role spans social channel strategy across Instagram, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, Reddit, YouTube, Threads, and Facebook; creator and talent relationship management; and influencer programs across organic and paid channels. You'll lead a small, high-performing team and directly shape how the world perceives Function, who advocates for the brand, and how the company scales. Key responsibilities include: (1) driving multi-channel social growth with step-change ambitions in reach, engagement, and cultural relevance; (2) building an always-on, performance-driven social strategy that balances brand integrity with experimentation; (3) owning the full talent and creator ecosystem—from identification and vetting through ongoing management and ROI measurement; (4) applying deep cultural intelligence to identify and own cultural moments, decode audience behavior, and position Function ahead of health culture trends; (5) leading and developing a cross-functional team with direct reports; and (6) operating as a true partner across the organization to influence how stories are told and launched. You'll need 5+ years of experience owning social strategy, content, and creator/influencer programs at scale—ideally in a single role. You should have a proven track record of meaningful channel growth and creator programs that drove measurable business outcomes, experience leading teams, and deep real-time operating experience (cultural moments, news cycles, launches, live engagement). Most importantly, you need genuine cultural intelligence: the ability to explain not just what performed, but why, and what it signals about where audiences are heading. You read culture like a strategist and execute like an operator.
