Axelera AI designs AI inference silicon for edge and enterprise deployments, optimized for low-power, high-performance computing. The company has raised $370M, employs 250+ people (including 60+ PhDs), and is headquartered in Eindhoven, Netherlands with growing US operations.
You will own new business and account growth across hyperscalers, neocloud/inference-as-a-service providers, enterprises, and frontier AI labs in the Americas. This is a hands-on, quota-carrying role requiring deep experience navigating long, technical, multi-stakeholder sales cycles in semiconductor or compute infrastructure.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and managing a qualified pipeline across target accounts, forecasting accurately via Salesforce
- Managing complex technical sales cycles involving infrastructure engineering, procurement, capacity planning, and executive stakeholders
- Navigating layered routes to market: direct buyer relationships, OEM/ODM system integrators, and channel/qualification processes
- Translating technical differentiation (power efficiency, performance-per-watt, TCO vs. GPU/accelerator alternatives) into commercial outcomes at hyperscaler scale
- Identifying and closing capacity commitments and design-in opportunities from technical evaluation through deployment
- Representing Axelera at industry events, customer visits, and technical reviews
- Partnering with product, field applications engineering, and marketing on go-to-market strategy for new silicon launches
- Creating, negotiating, and driving contracts to close with legal and finance support
The role is based in the Bay Area with flexible remote setup initially; in-office work may be required as the Bay Area office is established. Regular travel for customer visits and industry events is expected.
Qualifications:
- 10–15+ years of semiconductor or compute infrastructure sales experience, with a track record selling to hyperscalers, neoclouds, enterprises, and/or frontier AI labs
- Fluency in layered routes to market within a single account: direct commercial ownership, working through OEM/ODM system builders, and understanding channel/qualification processes—not just isolated direct, channel, or OEM experience
- Existing relationships with US hyperscaler, neocloud, or frontier model vendor buyers (infrastructure, procurement, or technical leaders evaluating inference silicon) that can be activated quickly
- Experience selling technical products with long, capacity-driven sales cycles, ideally AI/ML accelerators, GPUs, custom silicon, or related infrastructure
- Prior experience at a semiconductor chip company or within hyperscaler, neocloud, enterprise, or frontier lab accounts (established or startup)
- Comfort operating in a fast-moving startup environment with limited internal infrastructure
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate deep technical concepts (power ceiling, TCO, performance-per-watt) for engineering and executive audiences
- Willingness to travel regularly for customer visits and industry events
