Scopely Explore is seeking a Director of Product to lead the product strategy for Pikmin Bloom, one of the world's leading location-based live service games. This is a leadership role reporting to the General Manager, responsible for owning the long-term product strategy, KPI framework, and success metrics that connect player value with business outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and refining the winning product thesis grounded in player insights, market understanding, and competitive analysis
- Partnering with the General Manager and leadership team to translate the game's vision into compelling product strategy and roadmap
- Collaborating across Design, Production, Engineering, Marketing, Analytics, and LiveOps to deliver experiences that improve player satisfaction and business performance
- Establishing high standards for product thinking through review and creation of product briefs, strategies, and feature proposals
- Driving data-informed decision-making through experimentation, market analysis, player research, and competitive insights
- Defining strategies that strengthen engagement, retention, monetization, and long-term player value while maintaining creative vision
- Partnering with LiveOps leadership on seasonal planning and content strategy
- Building scalable product management practices and decision-making frameworks
- Fostering a player-centric, outcome-oriented product culture
- Leveraging AI to accelerate player research, competitive analysis, experimentation, and strategy development
Required qualifications: 8+ years of product leadership in free-to-play mobile games; proven track record operating and growing successful live service games post-launch; demonstrated success defining product strategy and shipping features with measurable KPI impact; deep understanding of game economy, LiveOps, experimentation, analytics, and player behavior; experience leading cross-functional teams; excellent analytical and communication skills; ability to design and implement AI-powered workflows; fluency in English and Japanese.
Preferred experience includes leading product management for globally-operated free-to-play games, developing long-term strategies for games with large engaged communities, geolocation/AR/outdoor gaming, partnerships with major entertainment IP holders, and familiarity with similar titles like Pokémon GO or Monster Hunter Now.
Role requires in-office presence 3 days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday).
