Neko Health is redefining preventative care through data-driven, non-invasive health assessments delivered in under an hour. The company combines proprietary scanning technology with direct clinical care to provide personalized, actionable health insights before symptoms appear.
As Director of Product Design, you will lead Neko's Product Design Group, responsible for designing the complete member journey from booking through full-body scan, clinical conversation, and ongoing engagement. The core design challenge is making complex health data intuitive, trustworthy, and actionable for non-clinicians—a problem no one has fully solved yet.
You will own team leadership, quality standards, and design output. The role balances two critical dimensions: effective operator and design leader. You'll report to the Head of Creative and collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Architecture, and Brand Creative teams.
In your first 6–12 months, you will: build the design leadership layer; define and establish Neko's design excellence standards and review mechanisms; create integrated ways of working where design sits inside the build process; develop senior designers into future leaders; and ship distinctive, category-defining experiences that are visibly and unmistakably Neko.
This is a greenfield opportunity to build a new design team from the ground up in a mission-driven healthtech company focused on preventative care and extending healthy lifespans.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Proven track record building products from 0 to 1 at consumer-facing companies; experience should demonstrate significant innovation, not primarily incremental improvement
• Exceptional design taste, craft, and genuine passion for design work; you actively use design tools and have a clear, articulate point of view on design quality
• Demonstrated team-building success: hiring, developing, and retaining specialist design talent at all levels, including senior domain leaders; people have done their best work under your leadership
• Credible peer to Product and Engineering leadership; comfortable working in the overlap where design and engineering blur; think in prototypes and built things rather than specifications
• Strong operator who builds team conditions for excellence and removes obstacles to execution
