Salary: USD 150,000 - 170,000 / annual
Office Hours is building the first on-demand expert network connecting organizations with trusted experts across knowledge domains. As Director of People Operations, you'll build and lead the people function from the ground up at a critical growth stage. This is a hands-on role combining strategic design with operational execution across the full HR spectrum.
Key responsibilities include: designing and executing performance review and promotion cycles with calibration and manager enablement; serving as trusted advisor on employee relations, investigations, and difficult conversations; building and maintaining employee handbook and people policies; managing benefits programs end-to-end from evaluation through open enrollment and life event changes; owning HRIS as system administrator including configuration, integrations, and data integrity; designing onboarding and offboarding programs; driving culture and engagement through recognition programs and internal communications; and leading the Talent & Recruiting team plus an office manager/employee experience role.
You'll need 10+ years of progressive HR and people operations experience, including leadership of a people function. Critical experience includes designing and running performance cycles end-to-end, advising on employee relations matters with sound escalation judgment, hands-on HRIS administration, and team leadership. You should have worked at companies under 150 people where you owned broad scope and did the work directly. Excellent written communication is essential given the policy, program design, and internal communications focus. Bonus experience includes building a people function from scratch and Rippling familiarity.
The role is hybrid, requiring 2-3 days per week in either the San Francisco or NYC office. Compensation includes $150-170k base salary plus discretionary performance bonus and equity.
