Flexport is a global logistics and commerce technology platform that moves over $19B in merchandise annually across 112 countries. This role leads the strategic HR transformation across Flexport's rapidly expanding fulfillment network, reporting to Operations leadership. You will architect and scale HR capabilities across multiple fulfillment centers in New Jersey, Wisconsin, Texas, Georgia, and California. Key responsibilities include developing a comprehensive HR strategy aligned with business objectives, leading the strategic transition from contingent to full-time workforce models, and building a high-performing HR team across geographically dispersed locations. You will ensure robust multi-state compliance for all HR policies and practices in a heavily regulated industry, manage claims and policy adherence, and partner with Operations on talent management, workforce planning, employee relations, and performance management. You will also champion culture, employee engagement, and diversity & inclusion initiatives across the fulfillment network. Required qualifications include 12+ years of progressive HR experience with at least 5 years in a leadership role. You need proven experience leading HR in multi-site, large-scale operational environments (fulfillment, logistics, manufacturing), deep expertise in workforce planning and talent acquisition for large non-exempt workforces, and demonstrated success building and scaling HR capabilities in new regions or rapidly expanding organizations. Strong knowledge of US labor laws, claim management, and multi-state compliance—particularly in NJ, WI, TX, GA, and CA—is essential. A 'compliance first' mindset is critical given the regulated nature of the industry. This is an opportunity to build an HR function from the ground up in a rapidly expanding global logistics company, with exposure to complex, high-impact strategic initiatives that directly shape Flexport's operational future.
