Flexport is seeking a Director of Human Resources to lead the strategic HR transformation across its rapidly expanding fulfillment network. This is a pivotal opportunity to architect and scale HR capabilities from the ground up across multiple fulfillment centers in New Jersey, Wisconsin, Texas, Georgia, and California. You will partner directly with Operations leadership to drive the strategic transition from a contingent to a full-time workforce. Key responsibilities include developing and executing a comprehensive HR strategy tailored for Flexport's fulfillment operations, managing the legal and operational complexities of converting temporary workers to permanent staff, and building a high-performing HR team across geographically dispersed locations. You will ensure robust multi-state compliance for all HR policies and practices, mitigating risk in a heavily regulated logistics environment. This includes managing claims, policy adherence, and navigating the specific labor law requirements of states like NJ, WI, TX, GA, and CA. You will also champion culture, employee engagement, and diversity & inclusion initiatives across the fulfillment network. The ideal candidate has 12+ years of progressive HR experience with at least 5 years in a leadership role. You should have proven success leading HR functions in multi-site, large-scale operational environments such as fulfillment, logistics, or manufacturing. Deep expertise in workforce planning, talent acquisition, and employee relations for large non-exempt workforces is essential. You must demonstrate strong knowledge of US labor laws and multi-state compliance requirements, with a 'compliance first' mindset appropriate for a heavily regulated industry. This role offers the chance to build an HR function from the ground up in a rapidly expanding global logistics company, with exposure to complex, high-impact strategic initiatives that directly shape Flexport's operational future.
