Flexport is seeking a Director of Human Resources to lead the strategic HR transformation across its rapidly expanding fulfillment network. This is a pivotal opportunity to architect and scale HR capabilities from the ground up across multiple fulfillment centers in New Jersey, Wisconsin, Texas, Georgia, and California.
You will partner directly with Operations leadership to drive the strategic transition from a contingent to a full-time workforce. Key responsibilities include developing and executing a comprehensive HR strategy tailored for Flexport's fulfillment operations, managing the transition to full-time staffing including legal compliance and policy development, building and mentoring a high-performing HR team across geographically dispersed locations, and ensuring robust multi-state compliance for all HR policies and practices.
You will also champion culture, employee engagement, and diversity & inclusion initiatives across the fulfillment network, manage talent acquisition and workforce planning for large non-exempt workforces, and partner with Operations on performance management and employee relations initiatives.
Required qualifications include 12+ years of progressive HR experience with at least 5 years in a leadership role. You should have proven experience leading HR functions in multi-site, large-scale operational environments such as fulfillment, logistics, or manufacturing. Deep expertise in workforce planning, talent acquisition, and employee relations for large non-exempt workforces is essential. Strong knowledge of US labor laws, claim management, and multi-state compliance requirements—particularly in NJ, WI, TX, GA, and CA—is required. Demonstrated success building and scaling HR capabilities in new regions or rapidly expanding organizations is highly valued. A 'compliance first' attitude is critical given Flexport's heavily regulated industry.
